We're breaking the rules again this week as Kieran starts off the show with some uncharacteristic un-enthusiasm towards DC Comics. Things pick up from there though, we've got one of the best new bands of the year for you to check out, as well as double-bill of balls out insane fun from Pain and Gain and Saints Row IV, respectively.
FINALLY, AFTER TEN THOUSAND YEARS WE'RE FREE. TIME TO CONQUER THE EARTH! No wait, sorry, not conquer the Earth, record a podcast, that's the one. The week off hit us harder than we thought it would, and we're champing at the bit to get back to work. This week we're going through all that big comic book casting news (Yes, we finally talk about Batfleck), Shaun talks about the thrill of processing paperwork and Kieran takes some liberties with how much of a song he's allowed to play.
Hot on the heels of our SummerSlam special last week, we're dropping another special on you as this week Kieran and Shaun are making their way down to Bramham Park for Leeds Festival. It's been a yearly tradition for the lads, but they both missed last year, so they're even more pumped to sleep in the mud and get knocked about by a bunch of sixteen year olds at the Lock-Up Stage.
We intended to have an extra long episode this week, but with neither of us having a full video game segment, it actually rounded up to normal length, so don't believe the lies at the start of the show promising we'll go longer. The reason why we tried to have an extended episode is because Shaun and Kieran are both off to Leeds Festival, and won't have any time to consume new media.
In the meantime we've got a great show still jam-packed with content. We go from murderous misunderstandings to the most charming smile in comic books, we've really got it all this week, and check back tomorrow for ANOTHER special episode where we run through the Leeds/Reading line-up and tell you who you should definitely see, or feel jealous about missing.
After our wonderfully received WrestleMania special earlier in the year, Kieran is rejoined by Matthew Gibbon for a rundown of the SummerSlam card. Unfortunately, we could only get together before the final Raw, so we're missing some details but it's still a fun show nonetheless.
A-ha! Welcome to another thrilling episode of The Enthusiast. Kieran's brimming with jealousy this week because Shaun's seen Alpha Papa, and he hasn't. Not to worry though, as he has what he claims to be "[his] favourite work of fiction all year" to share with you all. We're also talking about the subtext in children's films, not knowing how to read comic books and the latest Pokemon controversy. JOIN US.
We've got a fairly indie-heavy show this week, with indie music, indie films and the indiest comic we'll probably ever speak about. We're also talking about the big news of the week that you can probably guess from the episode art, and Kieran gets graphic as he discusses the show which gives him a so-called "News-Boner"
After last week's packed show, we're playing catch-up with a bunch of things we wanted to feature, but didn't have the time to get around to. There's spoilers ahoy as we talk in-depth about the end of Bioshock Infinite and this week's Young Avengers, as well as monkeys named after donkeys, how every Pixar film is in the same universe, and the Incredible Stan-Hulk.
San Diego Comic-Con was this past weekend, we've got OPINIONS and Kieran goes on record with an almost unbelievable statement with regards to the upcoming Superman/Batman film. Besides that, we've got pub crawls, a brigade of bros and some of the most kick-ass women in fiction.
We've got another great show for you this week. Kieran's all burnt-up from Blackpool, and Shaun's worn-out from work but we keep on trucking to provide you the entertainment you've come to expect from us. This week we're going in-depth with the Grand Theft Auto V trailer, talking about monster movies of both big and small screen and we give you a story straight from the mouth of the most bad-ass man to ever live.
